1. Who operates Recily
Recily is operated by Motty Alibin Shanu K K, an individual based in India. In this policy, “Recily”, “we” and “us” refer to that operator, who is responsible for the personal information described here. This policy covers the Recily app and public website. The creator program is covered separately by the Affiliate Privacy Policy in the creator portal.
The Recily team handles privacy requests, complaints and legal notices on behalf of the operator. For app or website matters, email support@recily.app. Creator program matters should go to contact@recily.app.
2. Information you provide
We handle your name, email address and sign-in identifiers; recipes, notes, images, scans, links and text you import or save; grocery lists; cooking and dietary preferences; and messages or attachments you send to support. Apple sign-in may provide a private relay email address instead of your personal email address.
Optional dietary preferences, allergies and avoidance information may reveal sensitive information. Provide only what you want used for your cooking experience. You can change the preferences available in the app or contact us for help.
3. Account, device and purchase information
The service processes account and device identifiers, IP addresses and technical request information, notification tokens and preferences, usage and paywall events, import progress and errors, security events, referral codes and campaign information. We also receive subscription status, product and transaction identifiers, trial and renewal events, purchase amounts, refunds and entitlements needed to manage access and referrals.
Apple processes App Store payments. Recily receives purchase and subscription records, rather than your full payment card details. RevenueCat helps us manage subscription records and entitlements; Superwall supports paywalls and related events.
4. Why we use information
We use information to sign you in, maintain and sync your library, process imports, personalize cooking features, manage groceries and subscriptions, deliver requested notifications, answer support requests, attribute referrals, calculate creator commissions, measure performance, diagnose errors and prevent fraud or abuse. We also use necessary records to meet legal obligations and resolve disputes.
Where a legal basis is required, we rely on performing our service agreement, our legitimate interests in operating and securing Recily, legal obligations, and consent where required. These interests include reliable imports, accurate billing and referral records, and protection against misuse. You can contact us to object to processing or withdraw consent where applicable. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out lawfully.
5. Imports, AI and your private library
When you start an AI recipe import, Recily sends the content you choose to Recily’s servers and Microsoft Azure OpenAI to extract ingredients and cooking steps. This can include recipe text, photos, scans, links and linked recipe content, including personal information within that content. In version 1.0 build 19 and later, starting an import sends this content without a separate AI permission prompt or an AI permission setting. You can enter recipes manually if you do not want to use AI imports. Earlier builds may ask for permission before importing; build 18 remembers that choice on the device and provides a Profile setting to withdraw it. Cancelling an import does not undo processing already completed.
Import results can contain mistakes. Check ingredients, allergens, nutrition estimates and cooking instructions. Avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information or content you are not entitled to use.
Your saved recipe library, private uploads, personal notes and edits are not made available to other users through the shared import cache. Separately, extraction results derived from eligible public links may be cached for up to 14 days and reused when another user imports the same public source. Private or user-specific inputs are excluded from that shared cache. Deleting your saved copy does not necessarily remove a result derived independently from the public source.
6. Providers and other disclosures
We share relevant information with providers that support authentication and databases (Google Firebase), hosting, storage, queues, AI processing and email (Microsoft Azure, including Azure OpenAI and Azure Communication Services), subscriptions (RevenueCat), paywalls (Superwall), and attribution (AppsFlyer when enabled). Apple supports sign-in, billing and device notification delivery; Firebase also supports notification-related services. The information involved depends on the feature you use.
External websites and social platforms have their own practices when you visit them or use their content. We may disclose information when required by law, to investigate abuse, protect people or enforce rights, and in a business transfer subject to applicable protections. We do not grant another app user access to your personal recipe library through these disclosures.
7. Referral reporting
Referral links, code confirmations, account eligibility and subscription events help us determine whether a referral qualifies and calculate any commission. A click alone does not attach a referral code to your account.
An attributed creator can see limited referral records, including masked customer name and email labels, referral status and dates, and associated purchase and commission information. This does not give the creator access to your full sign-in credentials, recipe library, dietary preferences or payment card details. Authorized Recily administrators can review the records needed to operate and check the program.
8. Tracking, browser storage and permissions
The app uses AppsFlyer for attribution only when Apple’s App Tracking Transparency permission is authorized. When enabled, attribution may involve account, device, campaign and purchase information. You can change tracking permission in your device settings. Declining tracking does not prevent you from using the app; a referral code you explicitly confirm can still be processed to provide the referral service.
The website uses authentication and browser session storage to keep you signed in and protect access. Creator theme preferences use local storage until cleared. Referral links also generate click and campaign records on our servers. Clearing browser storage may sign you out or reset settings and does not itself erase server records.
The app stores settings and cached content on your device. Camera, photo library, notification and tracking permissions are controlled through your device settings. We request platform permissions for the relevant features, and you can withdraw them there.
9. How long information is kept
We retain account data and saved content while needed to provide your account and library. Temporary source files and processing data are kept for operational needs and cleanup; the shared public-link result cache lasts up to 14 days. Saved library items are separate from that cache.
Support, subscription, referral, fraud-prevention and legal records may need to remain after an account closes. Retention depends on the purpose of the record, unresolved disputes, accounting or legal requirements, and the time needed to protect against abuse. Backups may take additional time to expire. We do not promise that every record is erased immediately when an account is deleted.
10. Account deletion
You can request account deletion in the app’s Profile section or email support@recily.app if you need help. The deletion process removes active app data and the sign-in identity associated with the account. Limited transaction, security, referral, commission or legal records may remain for the reasons described above.
If you also use the creator program with the same identity, deleting the app account can affect access to the creator portal. It does not automatically erase retained creator payment and audit history. Contact contact@recily.app to coordinate creator access, outstanding payouts or creator-data requests.
Deleting the app or your Recily account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel separately in Apple subscription settings.
11. Security and international processing
We use access controls, authenticated access and encryption in transit to help protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Report suspected unauthorized access to support@recily.app and do not send passwords or full payment credentials.
Recily is operated from India, and its service providers may process information in other countries. Data-protection laws can differ from those in your country. Where transfer safeguards are required, transfers must follow the applicable legal requirements. Contact us for information about the processing or transfer arrangements relevant to your request.
12. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location and the applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; and opt out of certain tracking or advertising uses. You may also have the right to complain to a data-protection authority. These rights can be subject to lawful exceptions, including records we must retain.
Send requests to support@recily.app. We may verify your identity before acting and will respond within the time required by applicable law. You can also manage available account preferences and device permissions yourself. If an issue remains unresolved, contact the Recily team through the same address to raise a privacy complaint; this does not limit your right to approach an authority.
13. Age eligibility and younger users
Recily accounts are intended for people aged 13 or older. A higher minimum age or parental consent may be required by local law. The account eligibility requirements are set out in our Terms & Conditions. The app does not ask for a separate age acknowledgement, collect a date of birth or perform age verification. Recily does not currently provide a verified parental-consent account-creation process. Where that consent is legally required for processing a younger user’s information, an account must not be created until an appropriate process is available.
If you believe someone under 13, or a younger user without consent required by law, has provided personal information to Recily, contact support@recily.app so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including removing the account or information where required. Parents and guardians should supervise younger users around kitchen equipment, heat and ingredients. Avoid submitting unnecessary personal information about children. The separate creator affiliate program remains restricted to people aged 18 or older.
14. Policy changes and contact
We may update this policy when our services or data practices change. The last-updated date identifies this revision; we will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by law. This policy is currently provided in English.
